Welcome To Basic Manners Classes!

Hi there you,

Welcome to Raintown Basic Manners Classes!

We’re absolutely thrilled to be part of your dog’s development. It’s a joy and a privilege to welcome you to our upcoming 5-week Basic Manners series!

How it Works

In Basic Manners Class, we focus on taking your dog’s foundational skills to the next level. Our lessons include calm greetings, recall, “go to mat,” and more (you’ll find the full weekly schedule at the bottom of this message.)

Seeing six pups successfully target their mats is the highlight of our week! 💛

Behaviour Protocol

We thoughtfully design each class to bring together dogs with similar temperaments and a shared readiness to learn. That said, it’s not uncommon for new or previously unnoticed behaviours to pop up in a group setting — it’s all part of the learning process!

If your pup shows signs of over-arousal (like excessive barking or overly rough play), or displays reactivity during class, we may ask you to sit this round out. If we make that call, please know it’s never a judgment — just a chance to pause and refocus. In most cases, we’ll apply a portion of your class credit toward a private session so we can work one-on-one and support your pup’s progress more effectively.

Please note: We’re unable to offer refunds within 48 hours of a class series start date, in line with our terms and conditions.

What to Bring

Along with your pup, please bring the following to each class:

  • High-value treats – Bring a variety of treats your pup LOOOOVES (we’re talking irresistible!).

  • Water bowl or bottle – Especially helpful on warm days or after active play.

  • Chew toy – A rubber Kong, bone, or soft toy — something your pup enjoys settling down with.

  • Mat or towel – A comfy spot for your pup to relax during quiet moments.

  • Flat collar and/or harness – No prong, choke, shock, vibrate, or slip collars, please.

  • Standard leash – A 5–6 foot leash (no retractable leashes).

Where we Are

Petite Paws Playcare, 194 W 3rd Ave, Vancouver, BC V5Y 1E9

Please note: Leave plenty of time to find parking before class, as Olympic Village can get busy!

If you Miss a Class

We encourage all our clients to attend each of their pre-booked classes as part of the 5-week series — every session plays an important role in your pup’s learning and development.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer refunds for missed classes.  A make-up class may be available for a fee, depending on availability. Please reach out to Raintown to check what options might be available.

If your dog comes into heat during the series, please reach out to us — we’re happy to chat and explore options together.
